A workshop on the zoning and development of the banks of the Saigon River and inner-city rivers and canals has recently been held in HCMC, promising a turning point in the city’s in-depth cultural development.
Tens of tons of dead fish have been taken out of HCM City’s Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe canal after the downpour on the afternoon of May 16. The authorities said the fish had been killed by toxic waste, which flowed into the canal via rainwater.
The World Bank announced on December 24 that its Board of Executive Directors approved $450 million in loans for Vietnam to carry out the second phase of an environmental sanitation project in Ho Chi Minh City.
