Nhon-Hanoi Station metro line

According to the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board, the government has decided to add capital for the project implementation.

Nguyen Cao Minh, head of the board, said that 98% of the elevated sections and 60% of the elevated stations have been built.

The remaining work is related to putting up roofs on the elevated stations and building underground sections.

Part of the project running from Nhon area in Nam Tu Liem District to Station 8 in Cau Giay District should be operated by 2020 before the entire route is fully operational in 2022.

Nhon-Hanoi Station metro project is 12.5 kilometres, including four kilometres underground.

Started in September 2010, the project was initially planned for completion in September 2017. However, due to sluggish construction, the line was predicted to be finished by 2022.

The project cost USD1.34 billion with the majority being ODA and city funded.
