Passengers on the North-South railway route buy tickets at the Sài Gòn Railway Station.

The reduction of train ticket prices, from 10 per cent to 20 per cent depending on the route, began on Thursday and will continue until February 18.

VNR noted that passengers on air-conditioner soft sleeper-seat trains would see a price reduction on routes of over 900km.

Additionally, since February 19 (except during holidays or the summer vacation period), VNR will apply price reduction programmes, from 6 per cent to 30 per cent, on the North-South railway route and some inter-provincial routes of over 1,000km.

Price reduction will be not applicable for passengers on the air-conditioner four sleeper-seat cabins.

According to the details, groups of 10-39 passengers will see their ticket prices slashed by 6 per cent, groups of 40-69 passengers will see reduction of 8 per cent, groups of 70-100 passengers will see reduction of 10 per cent and groups of over 101 people will see a cut of 12 per cent.

Individual passengers travelling on trains on the Huế City-HCM City and central Đà Nẵng City-Hà Nội routes will see reduction of 25 per cent.

Passengers on the North-South route who booked train tickets 20 days before the departure date will have the price reduced, ranging from 20 per cent to 50 per cent.

Tickets can be returned or exchanged 72 hours prior to the departure date.
