With the opening, north-south train services can resume after over three months of disruption.

According to Vietnam Railways, while trains departing from Sai Gon will resume services on June 26, two trains from Hanoi, one from Nha Trang and one from Quang Ngai will operate one day earlier.

Vietnam Railways has also announced new train services for the summer, including five Sai Gon – Hanoi – Sai Gon routes, one Sai Gon – Vinh – Sai Gon route, one Sai Gon – Quang Ngai – Sai Gon route, and one Sai Gon – Nha Trang – Sai Gon route.

In addition, due to high demand, the company will launch another seven routes.

From June 26-30, all trains will depart at Sai Gon Railway Station one hour later than the information printed on tickets since passengers no longer have to take a detour by bus.

The collapse of the old Ghenh Bridge significantly affected traffic on the north-south route, causing a loss of billions of đồng in the first five months of the year.
