According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, many localities in the northern region are experiencing hot weather with temperatures measured between 30 to 37.5 degrees centigrade. Hanoi saw temperatures of 30 degrees centigrade on March 4.  

Meanwhile, some localities in the northern central region have temperatures of more than 35 degrees centigrade with 37.6 in Huong Khe District, Ha Tinh Province and 38 in Tuong Duong District and 38.8 in Con Cuong District in Nghe An Province.

However, the centre said that a cold spell will affect the northern and the northern central regions on the morning of March 8 with drizzle early morning in some localities; while provinces from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue will see shower.

The cold snap is forecasted to end on March 10 and several days after that the northern region will see cold weather at night.

The lowest temperature is expected to be at 12-15 degrees centigrade in mountainous areas and even below 12 degrees in high mountainous areas; while other localities will see 15-18 degrees centigrade.

Between March 8-10, Hanoi will have the temperature of 15-17 degrees centigrade.
