Before Axie Infinity was created, Vietnamese programmers knew concepts like blockchain, play to earn, and digital works (NFT). But it was not until Axie Infinity achieved great success that Vietnamese game developers had more motivation and confidence to jump into this global playground.

Here are some notable blockchain game projects developed by Vietnamese people that have been or are about to be launched:

My DeFi Pet

My DeFi Pet is a blockchain game project that launched in May 2021. This is a game that combines raising animals and building land that has many similarities with Axie Infinity.

The biggest difference is probably in the technology. Axie Infinity runs on the Ethereum network, so the fees to buy pets are quite expensive. My DeFi Pet is integrated on the Binance Smart Chain network, so the fee is relatively cheap for beginners.

My DeFi Pet has its own virtual currency called DPet. This coin was issued 6.8 million out of a total supply of 100 million coins. DPet is valued at US$6.27 with a market capitalization of $43 million and 163,000 wallet addresses hold this coin.

This is considered the largest project after Axie Infinity joined with an experienced development team led by CEO Tri Pham, who is also the founder of the KardiaChain blockchain platform.

Faraland

Relatively different from the two games above is Faraland, a turn-based combat RPG where players build heroes to fight against enemies. The game is currently at the stage where players can only choose to buy character classes.

Although still in development, the Faraland project has already attracted over 20,000 wallets holding the Fara virtual currency. The coin is currently valued at US$3.72 with a market capitalization of $32 million. Faraland is a project on Binance Smart Chain that has 8.8 million coins in circulation out of a total supply of 100 million coins.

MeebMaster

MeebMaster is a relatively new pet project. In the game, players will also raise animals, take care of them and form a squad for them to fight with other players. The game is developed by the experienced studio Gemmob in Hanoi.

MeebMaster is currently in the virtual currency issuance round to raise capital from the community. Therefore, new players can only buy animals on the NFT market and temporarily leave it. In the future, the developer is committed to building a series of PvP, PvE activities to earn rewards converted into Meeb Token virtual currency.

Built on the Polygon network, Meeb Token is currently worth US$4 with 3 million coins in circulation out of a total supply of 21 million coins.

Theta Arena

Different from the rest is the survival arena game project Theta Arena. This is the project with the clearest gameplay compared to the Vietnamese blockchain games available on the market. Theta Arena will launch the NFT character market before opening the sale of Theta Coin virtual currency. From 2022, the game will gradually launch game modes in addition to features such as state war, pet system, tournaments.

Theta Arena is developed by WolfFun, a studio with products with millions of downloads.
