Fires flared at a complex of karaoke bars, bars and dance floors in Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi at 9am on November 12, 2014.

At 4pm on November 15, 2014, Blue Star karaoke bar in Ho Tung Mau Street, Cau Giay district, Hanoi was in intense flames. At that time 30-40 people were singing in the bar. Many people got to the rooftop and then jump to the roofs of the neighboring houses to escape from the fire.

At 12pm on May 3, 2014, the karaoke bar at 43G Giang Vo Street, Hanoi, burst into flame. The bar’s owner and four staff died in the incident. Short-circuiting is identified as the cause.

This 5-storey karaoke bar is located in a small alley so it was difficult to put out the fire.

At 4pm on November 6, 2014, NonStop karaoke bar in Lang Son City was damaged. The fire broke out from the second floor, and then spread to the third floor where 9 people were singing in two rooms. Four people died, including a couple and their 4-month-old child.

The fire that destroyed eight houses on Tran Quoc Thao Road in HCM City at 9pm on December 30, 2014 killed one man. The flames broke out from the New karaoke bar and then spread to the Idol karaoke bar and six other houses.

In the early morning of December 24, 2015, two houses on Nguyen Khang Street in Cau Giay district, Hanoi went up in flames. The fire spread to the nearby 6-storey karaoke bar. The police had to break the door to rescue a group of people who were singing in the bar.

At 9pm on March 19, 2016, a large fire occurred at karaoke bar Version II, in Mong Cai City of Quang Ninh province. Twenty-two people, mainly women and children, were rescued safely. 

At 10pm on July 28, 2016, Cuong Phat karaoke bar in Tran Quang Dieu Road of Quang Ngai City burst into flames. The fire was extinguished after seven hours. A fire also occurred at this bar two months ago. Total loss from the two fires is estimated at over VND1.5 billion ($70,000).

At 3pm on August 21, 2016, a karaoke bar on Vu Tong Phan Road, in Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi. More than 40 fire fighters and seven special vehicles were used to put out the fire. The incident was caused by welders who were working at the bar.

At 6pm on September 17, 2016, a large fire occurred at an 8-storey karaoke bar on Nguyen Khang Street, Cau Giay district, Hanoi. Firre-fighters were sent to the scene. Luckily, over 20 people in the house were safe.

Cosy karaoke bar on Le Van Pham Road in My Tho City, Tien Giang province was on fire at 2pm on October 12, 2016.

Most recently, fires at a karaoke bar on Tran Thai Tong Road, Cau Giay district, Hanoi, on November 1 killed 13 people, destroying four houses and many motorbikes.
