Hanoi’s authorities are seeking the Ministry of Transport’s approval to hand over an old railway locomotive for display at Hanoi Museum.

Old locomotive set for display at Hanoi Museum


The steam locomotive numbered 141-179 was produced by Gia Lam Locomotive Workshop in the 1964-1970 period.    

According to Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the locomotive would be a suitable exhibit at the Hanoi Museum and the department was working with the Vietnam Railways about this.

Vietnam Railways have agreed to give the locomotive to the museum. However, the object is a state-owned asset, so the handover needs the Ministry of Transport’s permission.
