Khanh has been crowned the champion of the Road to Olympia 2025

Throughout the 25th-season finale, Khanh, a biology majoring student at the famous school, impressed viewers with his confidence, composure, and quick reasoning. His friendly demeanor and signature “heart” gesture also won the audience’s affection.

He took an early lead after the warm-up round, answering five out of six questions correctly, the highest among the contestants. At the end of the warm-up, Bao Khanh temporarily led the ‘mountain-climbing team’ with 65 points.

Though temporarily overtaken by fellow player Thanh Tung in the next two rounds, Bao Khanh always stayed close in second place. However, with a near-perfect performance in the Sprint round by answering all three questions correctly, Bao Khanh became the 25th Olympia Road to the Summit Champion.

Hanoi now has become the locality with two Olympia champions 15 years after the first, who was Phan Minh Duc, the 10th champion, also a former Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted student.

Bao Khanh proved his mettle and relentless spirit entering the final after surviving the most intense and competitive quarterly match with five contestants (not the usual four, due to a program incident from the previous month’s competition).

Speaking with VietNamNet right after the contest, Bao Khanh said he felt very happy and proud. This year also marks the 40th anniversary of Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted’s establishment.

“This was a very complete match and I fully showcased my ability to win the laurel wreath. I played my best with no regrets,” Bao Khanh said.

The male student said the Sprint round impressed him most in the final. “The Sprint round helped me take the lead and I held it to win. I think this victory belongs not only to me but to all who love and support me throughout the journey,” Bao Khanh said.

The Hanoi student said family and relatives played a key role in his achievement. “For Olympia, family always provided all favorable conditions for me to study and experience, visit various places to learn about culture and society, thus consolidating knowledge,” Khanh said.

The Hanoi student said from childhood, he watched nearly all episodes of Road to Olympia with his grandmothers. Both are loyal viewers, rarely missing a  broadcast. Back then, Khanh kindled the dream of one day standing on the Road to Olympia stage.

“From my childhood, I imagined myself as a contestant answering questions to train reflexes. In 10th grade, I joined the school Olympia contest organized by OlympiAms Club to practice and learn. Thus, I competed with like-minded friends to hone knowledge, skills, and reflexes,” Khanh recounted.

Khanh said he often practiced simulated matches or similar games to Road to Olympia. Current IT development, Internet and social media makes “online Olympia” contests easy to organize. “Thus, I had chances to compete nationwide, training, learning, and helping each other grow,” Bao Khanh said.

Asked about secret to success, Khanh said he has no special secrets, but he loves reading books and exploring knowledge via the Internet. The  student said current AI support makes learning and knowledge synthesis simpler and time-saving.

Bui Thi Thu Ha, Khanh’s homeroom teacher, assessed Bao Khanh as intelligent, eager to learn, knowledgeable, and book-loving. “Khanh excels across subjects, earning outstanding student titles many consecutive years,” Ha said.

The student boasts impressive achievements: First prize in the 2022-2023 city science Olympiad; Second prize in the city Biology Olympiad for 2023-2024 and 2024-2025; and silver medal in the 2025 Natural Science Olympiad.

In class, peers admire Bao Khanh’s approachability, storytelling, and MC skills. He also enjoys singing in class cultural programs and loves Trinh Cong Son’s songs.

In his free time, Khanh likes reading books, playing chess, visiting cultural sites like museums or watching theater.

“My hobby is reading literary novels. I also love cooking, especially Vietnamese dishes,” he said.

Khanh also learned programming to boost logical thinking. He has support from his father, a tech-passionate programmer with over 30 of years experience.

With today’s Olympia win, Bao Khanh wants to tell young people to trust themselves, keep the fire of passion for knowledge, and pursue dreams to the end. “If you chase dreams daily, one day you can surely achieve them.”

After the final, Bao Khanh said he is still considering opportunities. “I want to weigh carefully before deciding. Next, I’ll have a family feast with relatives,” the student said.
