A crash between a fire engine and a passenger bus in Hanoi killed one firefighter and injured 10 others.

The passenger bus seriously damaged 

The accident occurred on the afternoon of March 18 on Phap Van-Cau Gie Highway. The fire truck with with seven firefighters onboard was answering a call when it was hit by the 45-seat bus which was travelling in the opposite direction from Hanoi to Ninh Binh Province. 

Eleven people were injured in the accident, including six firefighters and five people on the bus. Due to serious multiple injuries, one of firefighters died later, said Senior Lieutenant Colonel Do Anh Tuyen from Hanoi Fire Fighting and Prevention Police.

Another injured firefighter is still in critical condition.      

Tuyen added that the bus assistant is also now staying at hospital for treatment with a broken leg. Other people who have light injuries have been discharged from hospital.

The slippery road and misty weather were partially responsible for the accident.
