Ahead of the launch, the company has revealed what may become the device's defining feature: a massive 11,000mAh battery, an exceptionally large capacity by current smartphone standards.
The figure surpasses even the Honor Power 2, which launched in January with a 10,080mAh battery and previously held the title of the largest battery ever fitted to a smartphone by Honor.
With the X80 Pro Max, the Chinese technology company is once again pushing the boundaries of mobile battery endurance.
As smartphones become increasingly central to work, entertainment and online activities, a battery of this size could allow users to go several days between charges.
90W fast charging and impressive reverse charging capabilities
Honor is not relying solely on battery capacity.
The X80 Pro Max will also feature 90W wired fast charging, a notable upgrade from the 80W charging offered by the Honor Power 2.
The higher charging speed is expected to significantly reduce the time required to refill the enormous 11,000mAh battery, addressing one of the biggest challenges associated with ultra-large power cells.
The device will also support 27W wired reverse charging.
This feature allows the smartphone to function as a portable power bank, capable of charging wireless earbuds, smartwatches and even other smartphones when needed.
Modern design with a distinctive circular camera module
Official promotional images have already revealed much of the Honor X80 Pro Max's design.
The smartphone features a flat rear panel and a large circular camera module positioned at the upper center of the back, creating a minimalist yet distinctive appearance.
Honor has confirmed four color options: Lightning Red, Moonlight White, Mystic Black and Vibrant Orange.
The rear camera system includes a 50MP Matrix AI Vision main sensor accompanied by an LED flash.
The Honor logo sits centrally on the lower portion of the rear panel, contributing to the phone's balanced design.
On the front, the device adopts a punch-hole display for the selfie camera, while the power and volume buttons are positioned on the right side, following a familiar Android smartphone layout.
Large OLED display and next-generation Snapdragon processor
In addition to the officially confirmed details, previous leaks have revealed several other notable specifications.
The Honor X80 Pro Max is expected to feature a 6.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,280 x 2,788 pixels, delivering sharp visuals, vibrant colors and strong contrast.
This should appeal to users who frequently watch videos, play games or work on their smartphones.
For performance, the device is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor.
While not positioned at the very top of Qualcomm's lineup, the chip is expected to strike a balance between performance and energy efficiency, particularly when paired with the massive 11,000mAh battery.
Alongside the Pro Max model, Honor is also expected to introduce the standard Honor X80 during the June 22 event.
The company has already opened pre-orders through its online store in China, indicating that commercial availability is approaching quickly.
