Because of Covid-19, the trade of many enterprises was interrupted, but Viettime Craft still received orders to export products. Established in 2007, Viettime Craft specializes in making handicrafts such as baskets and lacquers from natural materials such as hyacinth, bamboo and seaweed.

In 2015, Viettime Craft got the first order two months after entering Alibaba.com. Realizing the potential of online exports, the enterprise decided to expand the import-export division from three to 20 workers.

Hoang Thanh Tam, CEO of Indochina Creative Investment and Development JSC, said since the company became a verified supplier, the number of clients has risen from 20,000 to 30,000 a month, while the number of requests has gone up from 300 to 400.

DSW has exported goods to choosy markets such as Japan, South Korea, the EU, China and other Asian markets.

DSW’s CEO Tran Thi Yen Phi, said that after one year of operation, the company exported products to the target market of Japan, a big success. Its revenue in 2022 is expected to reach $3.5 million, an increase of three times compared with 2021.

In March this year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Vietrade launched a Vietnamese booth on Alibaba.com. 

Farm produce, food and drinks were among the top 10 best selling products on the e-commerce platforms. The strong points of Vietnamese sellers are large production capacity, high-quality products, product diversity, price competitiveness and export orientation.

The Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency (iDEA) and Amazon have signed a cooperation agreement on the initiative "Cross-border e-commerce: A breakthrough era" which aims at supporting development of the human resources for cross-border e-commerce for 10,000 enterprises in 2022-2026.

According to Amazon, in 2021, nearly 7.2 million Vietnamese products were sold on this platform, or 14 products per one minute.

If B2C is considered an export field, this would be the fifth strongest in Vietnam in the next five years, said Gijae Seong of Amazon Global Selling Vietnam

Andrew Zhengm, deputy CEO of Alibaba.com said that Vietnam has a good prestige for production capacity, high quality of products and competitive prices.

He said B2B can help many small and medium enterprises (SMEs) recover more rapidly and even obtain sustainable development. He said enterprises should not feel worried if they still don’t understand international consumers, or if their competitiveness is not strong enough. Sellers can participate in online training courses to equip with firm knowledge and take full advantage of existing tools.
