Find X10 Ultra: An unprecedented camera setup
Fresh leaks from the smartphone industry suggest that 2027 could bring some unusually ambitious camera upgrades, even as manufacturers grapple with rising component costs.
Economic uncertainty and sharp increases in chip and component prices throughout 2026 have raised questions about whether Chinese smartphone makers such as Oppo, Xiaomi and Vivo will continue investing in premium Ultra models in early 2027.
Those concerns, however, have not stopped speculation about the next generation of high-end devices. Following reports surrounding the Vivo X500 Ultra, attention has now turned to Oppo's rumored Find X10 Ultra.
If the latest leaks prove accurate, Samsung and Apple could face a formidable new competitor, particularly in the increasingly competitive field of smartphone photography.
According to the rumors, the Find X10 Ultra could feature two 200-megapixel sensors, one for its main camera and another for its telephoto system.
A 50MP ultrawide camera may complete the rear setup, while the front-facing camera could offer an extraordinary 100MP resolution.
Such specifications would represent an ambitious step forward, especially considering that selfie cameras on today's smartphones generally have much lower resolutions than their rear-facing counterparts.
For the 200MP main camera, Oppo is reportedly considering Samsung's ISOCELL HPA and ISOCELL HPC sensors.
Both options are expected to support LOFIC technology, which could improve highlight handling, reduce overexposure and expand dynamic range.
Sensor size is another important consideration. The rumored main sensor could approach the 1-inch class, allowing it to capture more light and potentially deliver better low-light performance and greater detail in scenes with challenging lighting.
For comparison, the Galaxy S26 Ultra uses a 1/1.3-inch main camera sensor, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max features a 1/1.28-inch sensor.
If Oppo adopts a larger sensor for the Find X10 Ultra, the device could gain a meaningful hardware advantage over its rivals.
The telephoto system could be equally impressive.
The existing Find X9 Ultra already features a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 1/1.28-inch sensor.
By comparison, the Galaxy S26 Ultra and iPhone 18 Pro Max are reported to use smaller telephoto sensors measuring 1/2.5 inch and 1/2.55 inch, respectively.
The leaked specifications suggest Oppo's telephoto sensor would have a substantially larger imaging area than those of its competitors.
That difference matters because larger sensors can capture more light, preserve finer details and improve long-distance photography in less favorable lighting conditions.
If Oppo continues this approach with the Find X10 Ultra, it could strengthen its position in the photography-focused smartphone segment, where camera hardware remains a major competitive battleground.
For the ultrawide camera, a 50MP sensor appears to be one possible choice.
However, Oppo could also opt for a 200MP sensor, following the approach reportedly taken with the Find X10 Pro Max, described as the first smartphone equipped with three 200MP rear cameras.
10x optical zoom and a 100MP selfie camera
Another intriguing possibility is a second telephoto camera capable of delivering 10x optical zoom.
Oppo is reportedly evaluating Samsung's ISOCELL GNB and OmniVision's OV51A sensors.
Both are said to measure approximately 1/1.95 inch, although the company has apparently not made a final decision.
If production schedules become an obstacle, Oppo could instead adopt a smaller 1/2.76-inch sensor.
That uncertainty highlights how much the Find X10 Ultra's final camera configuration could change before launch.
Meanwhile, the rumored 100MP selfie camera may become one of the device's most distinctive selling points.
Some reports suggest Oppo is considering a square 100MP sensor, although there is not yet enough information to establish how such a design would work in practice.
A higher-resolution front camera could offer greater flexibility for cropping, digital zoom and capturing fine details.
Still, megapixel count alone does not determine image quality.
The final results would depend heavily on sensor dimensions, lens quality, image processing and software algorithms.
Even so, a 100MP selfie camera would represent a striking departure from conventional flagship smartphone specifications.
144Hz display, 8,500mAh battery and next-generation Snapdragon chip
Beyond photography, the Find X10 Ultra is rumored to feature a 6.89-inch BOE display with 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate.
If confirmed, those specifications would promise sharp visuals, fluid scrolling and a responsive gaming experience.
The device is also expected to run on a next-generation flagship Snapdragon processor available at the time of its release.
An approximately 8,500mAh battery, combined with fast-charging technology, could be another major attraction.
Such a large battery could prove particularly useful for people who frequently shoot high-resolution photos, record videos or make extensive use of telephoto zoom.
Actual battery life, however, would still depend on display power consumption, processor efficiency and software optimization.
Price could exceed $2,000, with launch timing still uncertain
Despite its ambitious rumored specifications, several important questions remain about the Find X10 Ultra, particularly its price and international availability.
The device could debut in April or May 2027, according to current speculation, but no official launch date has been confirmed.
It is also unclear whether Oppo intends to release the phone widely outside China.
If the Find X10 Ultra remains exclusive to the Chinese market, international buyers may need to import the device.
That could mean dealing with China-specific software, limitations involving certain applications and services, or potential compatibility issues with mobile networks in some countries.
A global launch, meanwhile, could come with a substantial price tag.
Some estimates suggest the Find X10 Ultra could cost more than $2,000, although there is no official information supporting a confirmed retail price.
At that level, Oppo would be competing in the ultra-premium smartphone market, where Samsung's Galaxy S27 Ultra and Apple's iPhone 20 Pro could emerge as significant rivals in 2027.
For now, the Find X10 Ultra remains a device defined largely by leaks and speculation.
But if even a substantial portion of its rumored specifications materializes, Oppo could make a serious bid to challenge Samsung and Apple at the very top of the smartphone market.
