In his opening remarks, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong stressed the importance of personnel recommendations for management agencies in the 2016-2021 tenure, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

At its second meeting, the committee voted to introduce personnel for the posts of State President, Prime Minister and Chair of the National Assembly (NA), and discussed personnel matters for 34 other posts at State agencies.

The 13th National Assembly (NA) at its 11th sitting endorsed the top three posts, and elected or approved 34 other nominees.

As the 14th NA (the 2016-2021 tenure) has taken shape, the committee is responsible for preparing and introducing personnel for the legislature to vote or approve in line with the prevailing laws.

The top three posts and 34 other positions will not be discussed at the committee’s third meeting, which is scheduled to last until Friday. However, the 13 positions that were not introduced at the second meeting will be voted by the 12th Party Central Committee before they are presented to the 14th NA to elect or approve at its first session.

In addition to personnel recommendations, delegates to the meeting will discuss working regulations of the committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Commission for Inspection.
