The SP2 train, which runs from the northern mountainous Lao Cai Province to Hanoi, derailed early on Monday at Hanoi's Yen Vien station, but there were no casualties.

The derailed carriages in Yen Vien Station on Monday morning.
Pham Nguyen Chien, head of Viet Nam Railway Corporation’s security department, said the train’s 13th and 14th carriages derailed.
The train management board evacuated passengers in the derailed carriages to coaches ahead and continued the journey.
The train arrived safely at Hanoi station at 6am, he said.
The incident is expected to delay several other train routes, Chien said.
The corporation has sent rescue forces to sort out the problem, which will be resolved in the next few hours, he added.
Investigations are on to establish the cause of the derailment.
Chien suspects that it might have occurred because of technical faults. On Sunday morning, the 14th carriage of another SP2 train had also derailed at Yen Vien station.
