Passengers wait at a coach station in Hanoi. Vihago has launched a transport service app that connects passengers and transport operators

Vihago’s operations are similar to those of ride-hailing service firms, such as Grab, but Vihago will not take part in the pricing policies of and not collect commissions from its transport service provider-partners. Instead, it will charge VND200,000 per vehicle serving 100 passengers per month through the Vihago service.

Transport operators joining the Vihago platform can map out pricing policies and access and connect with passengers more easily, stated Nguyen Tuan Vinh, director of Vihago, at the launch event. In addition, each participating transport firm will be given software to manage the operations of their fleet of vehicles, instead of having to purchase management software themselves.

Drivers of all kinds of passenger vehicles are welcomed at Vihago, so long as they own smartphones with access to the internet.

Passengers can download the Vihago app for free on smartphones to find passenger vehicles meeting their needs anywhere and at any time, resulting in time savings as they will not have to call transport operators or go to coach stations to book seats, Vinh added. The app will enable passengers to locate drivers through their mobile phone numbers and will not get involved in negotiations between passengers and drivers.

Vihago also launches many special offers for passengers to help transport firms gain more customers.

To date, Vihago has recorded over 30,000 vehicles joining its platform and over 10,000 passengers downloading the app. Moreover, the app operator has received VND5 billion in funding and aims to attract investment of VND90 billion this year.
