Passengers who take flights to newly-opened Van Don International Airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh will be offered free tickets to local tourist sites, including Ha Long Bay, from December 30.

Under a resolution approved by Quang Ninh Province People’s Council, people who take flights to Van Don International Airport will receive free tickets to Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay and Yen Tu. The tickets will be valid for 30 days since their flights.    

The province will apply the offer for three years, starting from December 30.

Besides the free tickets, the passengers will be provided with free bus tickets on Ha Long-Van Don route.

Entrance fees for Ha Long and Bai Tu Long bays have different levels. Day tours range from VND200,000 - 250,000 per person, while overnight tours vary between VND500,000 - 750,000 (USD22.72-34.09). Meanwhile, tickets to Yen Tu tourist site is VND40,000 per person.

Van Don is Vietnam’s first private airport and cost VND8 trillion (USD363.63 million). The airport will be officially put into operation on December 30 after three years of construction.
