Update news petroleum imports
Vietnam had spent nearly US$6 billion importing 5.65 million tonnes of petroleum of all kinds as of August 15, up 150% in value year on year, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
Vietnam imported petroleum products worth US$5 billion the first half of the year, surging by 128% year on year.
On the afternoon of March 14, the Ministry of Industry and Trade informed that it has requested importers to triple petroleum imports in order to fill the shortfall from Nghi Son Oil Refinery.
