Vietnam Railways (VNR) has launched service to allow customers to book train tickets and make the payments through mobile phones since May 7.
Vietnam Railways and M-Service on May 7 signed the agreement for the service which uses the Payoo or MoMo mobile electronic wallet services.
To purchase train tickets through Payoo, passengers should access the ticket selling website of Vietnam Railways at dsvn.vn and fulfill all steps as directed. When choosing to pay via Vietnamese language Payoo, they can then select the options of paying with their e-wallet, their international credit or debit cards, or domestic credit or debit cards.
Meanwhile, to book train tickets through the e-wallet MoMo, customers need to sign in their account in the app MoMo from their mobile devices, then choose the option of buying train tickets, and enter necessary information such as kind of ticket and identification information to begin the payment process. The app MoMo can be downloaded from the website https://momo.vn/ for both Android and iOS operating systems but is only available in Vietnamese.
According to a representative from M-Service, at present, people who use MoMo on iOS and Android smartphones can buy train tickets.
Customers will be offered VND500,000 (USD22.7) discount to book train tickets using Payoo or MoMo until August 7.
Customers can also enjoy 15% discount when booking rooms on the website vntrip.vn using MoMo application at more than 8,000 domestic hotels.
Vu Anh Minh, chairman of VNR, said that this is among the corporation’s efforts to improve their services. Over the past time, VNR has tried to improve the quality of train facilities.
