A photo exhibition on the architectural styles in Hanoi from old times to now has opened in downtown.

With 130 photos, the exhibition shows a mix of traditional and modern architecture, vividly capturing the development of the capital city.

From a swank and sparkling Hanoi peppered with high-rises to pagodas, village gates and towers, the audience can see the many faces of the city.

The photographs on display are among the best and have been shortlisted from nearly 1,500 photos by 233 photographers in the city, who participated in an annual photo contest on architecture. The organisers presented two silver, three copper and five encouragement prizes.

The exhibition is running at the Exhibition House on 45 Trang Tien Street till July 16.
