The Duong Dong ward, Phu Quoc city. This ward has an area of 15.6km2, and a population of 44,607 in 2020, the most crowded ward on the island. This is the hub of Phu Quoc Island, and home to most of the island's administrative agencies.

Duong Dong is the largest and first urban area on Phu Quoc Island. 

Although it is the most important urban area of Phu Quoc, the infrastructure of housing, traffic, and urban works of Duong Dong ward is at an average level. 

There is only one five-star hotel located in Duong Dong ward, which opened in 2018. There are few outstanding and large-scale infrastructure projects in Duong Dong.

Duong Dong has many problems with environmental sanitation, such as waste collection and pollution of river water. 

Phu Quoc is considered the capital of resorts. In 2014, Vinpearl Resort Phu Quoc was inaugurated in Ganh Dau. This is a 5-star resort with a total investment capital of up to hundreds of millions of USD. Since then, many large-scale and luxury tourism projects have been implemented on the island.

 

After about 10 years, a large area of thousands of hectares along the north coast of Phu Quoc Island has witnessed amazing changes. These are no longer rows of houses of fishermen, but billion-dollar tourism projects.

The center of Ganh Dau commune is the most populated area in the North of the island. The area has developed rapidly in the past 10 years, along with new tourism projects.

An Thoi ward (formerly An Thoi town) is one of the two most important urban centers of Phu Quoc. 

Located adjacent to An Thoi ward is a large project invested in by the Sun Group. The highlight of this project is the Mediterranean-style townhouse area and impressive tourist works. Sungroup also implements the Sun Grand City New An Thoi urban area of nearly 400 hectares along Dat Do beach.

This urban project is located close to the departure station of the sea-crossing Hon Thom cable car system of 7,899.9m long.

A few hundred meters from Sun Grand City New An Thoi is the Meyhomes Capital Urban Area project of Tan A Dai Thanh Group with a total investment of VND4,800 billion. 

Khem beach is about 5km to the north of An Thoi ward. This is a famous beach in Phu Quoc with a series of tourism, resort and real estate projects, including the JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay tourist service area.

Bai Truong, in Duong To commune, is the longest coastline on Phu Quoc island with about 20km. This is also home to many tourism projects.

The local authorities plan to build a coastal road of of about 10.68km along Bai Truong.

According to Phu Quoc development planning to 2040, with a vision to 2050, Bai Truong will play an instrumental role for the island city.

The most pristine place in Phu Quoc is the ​​Phu Quoc National Park with an area of 29,596 hectares, spread over six communes: Cua Duong, Bai Thom, Ganh Dau, Ham Ninh, Cua Can and Duong To. Phu Quoc National Park is an important biosphere reserve on the island.

Bai Thom in the north of Phu Quoc island has fine white sand beaches, which are unspoiled. 

Ham Ninh commune is still wild.

Bai Sao is one of the most beautiful and famous beaches in Phu Quoc. 

Dat Do located in the south of the island is considered one of the beaches that retains a wild features.
