A 3.3-magnitude earthquake has just struck Thanh Thuy district in Phu Tho province, with tremors felt by residents in parts of Hanoi.

On the afternoon of November 9, a representative from the Vietnam Institute of Geophysics reported that an earthquake of 3.3 magnitude occurred at 4:18 PM in Thanh Thuy district, Phu Tho province.

According to the Institute of Geophysics, the earthquake's epicenter was located at 22.226°N latitude and 105.344°E longitude, with a focal depth of approximately 15.6 kilometers.

“The Institute of Geophysics assessed this earthquake as carrying a disaster risk level of 0,” a representative from the Institute stated.

Due to the earthquake, residents in several areas within Hanoi reported feeling noticeable tremors.

Nguyen Minh, a resident of Ba Vi, Hanoi, shared that he felt a light shaking followed by dizziness lasting 3-5 seconds, prompting him to suspect an earthquake.

On social media, many users also posted about experiencing the tremors.

Authorities continue to monitor and assess the situation for a formal conclusion regarding this seismic event.
