This is truly a practical model for state agencies at all levels and relevant bodies to join hands to repel crimes against children.
According to statistics, Phu Tho province has nearly 400,000 children, accounting for 26.3% of the population. Children are a vulnerable group, so building a safe environment for children is urgent.
The Children's Law 2016 clearly stipulates that agencies, organizations, educational establishments, families and individuals are responsible for implementing appropriate measures to ensure that children live a safe and healthy life; prevent, stop and handle acts of child abuse...
In order to strengthen the prevention and control of violence and child abuse, minimize harm, ensure the rights and interests of children, on the basis of guiding documents of the Government and the Prime Minister, ministries, central agencies, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Phu Tho Province have issued many documents to direct the implementation of the tasks of preventing and combating child abuse.
In particular, on February 24, 2021, the People's Committee of Phu Tho Province issued Plan No. 627/KH-UBND on actions to prevent and combat violence and child abuse in Phu Tho province for the period 2021-2025.
The plan aims to have 100% of families provided with knowledge and skills on child protection in different forms; 100% of students are guided and educated in knowledge, life skills, and self-protection skills against acts of violence and sexual abuse with age-appropriate content.
The development and replication of the model "Prevention and combat of crimes against children" has contributed positively to ensuring security and order, protecting the rights and interests of children, and significantly reducing crimes against children, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility for the whole community on this issue.
To date, 100% of districts, cities and towns in Phu Tho have implemented the model "Prevention and combat of crimes against children". Through the actual situation, this is truly a practical model for agencies at all levels to join hands to repel crimes against children, thereby strengthening communication, raising awareness and responsibility for community.
Government agencies in the province have also carried out many activities and models to prevent and combat crimes against children. The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has advised the Provincial People's Committee to promulgate programs, plans, and guiding documents on the care and protection of children in general and the prevention and control of violence and child abuse in particular and developed a plan to organize children's forums at all levels. The Department also promoted the free use of the National Child Protection Hotline 111 under the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
