Recently, the 7th National Children's Forum in 2023 with the theme "Children participating in building a safe, friendly and healthy living environment for children" took place in Hanoi on August 5-8. 

The 7th National Children's Forum had the participation of 188 children from many regions across the country. They are typical faces, voted from 43 provinces, cities, and units, representing 25 million children nationwide. Among them, some children come from remote villages, some are orphans, some are disabled, some are very young, some have outstanding academic and training achievements.

In recent days, the children have lived together in the same house; exchange and discuss important issues related to children such as: Children participating in preventing and combating violence and child abuse; Children participate in preventing, combating, and minimizing injuries, drowning, and traffic accidents; Children participate in protecting children in the online environment; Children participate in preventing and combating climate change, epidemics, and natural disasters; Children participate in preventing and combating child labor against the law.

At the official session of the forum, many questions related to children's issues such as: How to reduce child marriage among ethnic children? What is the effective solution to protect children online? What is the solution to reduce injuries and prevent abuse and violence against children? How to get information about children and handle children's issues effectively? How to help children who have been abused or subjected to violence overcome the crisis and stabilize their psychology?... has been sent to leaders of the Party, State, relevant ministries and branches.

The opinions and recommendations of the children were received by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, the Ministry of Health, and the Youth Rights Protection Association. Attending the forum, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha said that building a safe, friendly and healthy living environment is not only meaningful for children but also for the sustainable development of the country.

He said that to create a safe and healthy living environment for all children, ministries, branches, localities, and socio-political organizations need to continue to listen, consider and respond to opinions, appropriate aspirations of children, especially in localities that have not paid enough attention to this work.

"When we do things with heart and understanding, we will understand what children need," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

The Deputy Prime Minister suggested strengthening the coordination of all three factors: family, school and society to give the best love and care to children, especially those with special circumstances, in order to develop children. Comprehensively develop Virtue - Intellect - Body - Beauty, practice soft skills, life skills, know good things, be reasonable, have enough knowledge to respond and protect yourself against dangerous situations such as violence. abuse, physical or mental abuse; can avoid and prevent bad and negative behaviors and phenomena, the risk of accidents, injuries, drowning...

In addition, the Ministries of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Health, Education and Training, child protection associations, psychological consulting organizations... need to establish more channels to connect, listen, and Timely capture children's thoughts and feelings with closeness, sincerity, and privacy. At the same time, strengthen psychological counseling activities in high schools, to prevent, support and intervene (when necessary) for students facing psychological difficulties in study and life.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested ministries, branches, localities, and socio-political organizations to participate in building rules of cultural conduct and safety in the online environment. There are effective solutions to prevent bad, toxic information and content inappropriate for teenagers and children.

Launching many movements to protect a green, clean and beautiful environment, forming a friendly lifestyle and harmony with nature among children. Finally, create more channels and forums for children to express their aspirations and participate in building and perfecting policies related to children's rights and interests.
