Phuc Huynh celebrates after capturing the 2026 Asian Open title following a thrilling championship match against Ly Hoang Nam.

Phuc Huynh delivered an impressive performance to claim the men's singles crown at the 2026 Michelob Ultra Asian Open Pickleball Championship, defeating longtime rival Ly Hoang Nam in a dramatic three-set final.

The championship match, held in Ho Chi Minh City on June 7, produced an entertaining battle between two of Vietnam's leading pickleball players.

Phuc Huynh controlled the opening set from the outset, dictating play and securing a comfortable 21-13 victory.

The second set proved far more competitive as both players exchanged points in a tense contest. Ly Hoang Nam eventually edged the set 23-21, using his experience and composure to level the match.

With the score tied at one set apiece, the two rivals entered a decisive third set and delivered a high-quality display filled with intensity and attacking play. In the end, the 2000-born Phuc Huynh pulled away to seal a commanding 21-11 victory.

The 2-1 triumph officially crowned Phuc Huynh as the men's singles champion of the 2026 Asian Open.

The result also marked his second consecutive victory over Ly Hoang Nam since September 2025 and denied his opponent the opportunity to complete a triple-title sweep at the tournament after already winning the men's doubles and mixed doubles events.

In the women's singles competition, Dutch player Roos Van Reek captured the title with a straight-set victory over Sophia Phuong Anh. She prevailed 21-11, 21-12 to secure the championship.
