Next week, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will lead a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to attend the 15th Annual Pioneers Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Dalian, Liaoning Province, China, from June 24-27.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Thanh Binh highlighted the importance of this trip, noting that the 2024 WEF Dalian Conference, themed “New Growth Horizons,” is the second largest WEF event after Davos, with 1,600 delegates. The conference aims to foster new ideas, fields, and innovative models that will shape future economic sectors.

Deputy Minister Pham Thanh Binh emphasized that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is one of the few heads of government invited by the WEF and China for two consecutive years, underscoring Vietnam's valued position and contribution to global economic growth.

The conference offers Vietnam a platform to engage with new issues, trends, and driving forces for world economic growth, while exchanging development and governance ideas at both national and global levels. It is also an opportunity to promote Vietnam's economic and social achievements, reinforcing its image as a dynamic and innovative country attractive to global corporations.

Furthermore, the conference provides a chance for Vietnam to strengthen relations with countries, partners, and international organizations, affirming its role in the international community and supporting the foreign policy goals of the 13th National Party Congress.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will have a packed schedule, including delivering a special speech at the plenary opening session alongside Chinese Premier Li Qiang and other leaders. He will also speak at discussion sessions and chair dialogues and seminars with the business community focused on Vietnam.

He will highlight Vietnam's socio-economic development, vision, policies, and macroeconomic management experience.

The Prime Minister will also emphasize the importance of cooperation between the WEF and partners, particularly in high-priority, emerging industries such as artificial intelligence (AI), science, technology, and innovation.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will hold bilateral talks with senior Chinese leaders.

Deputy Minister Pham Thanh Binh noted that Vietnam and China recently agreed to deepen their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and build a community of shared future with strategic significance. High-level contacts are crucial for enhancing political trust and implementing high-level agreements, contributing positively to the bilateral relationship.
