Reiterating the desire to have Vietnamese people join the leadership of Samsung Vietnam in the near future, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that if Korean management technology is combined with Vietnamese intelligence, it will certainly succeed.

On the morning of July 2, during his official visit to South Korea, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Lee Jae Yong, Chairman of Samsung Group.

The Samsung Chairman thanked Vietnam for its effective support and assistance, especially during the Covid-19 period, which helped Samsung overcome numerous difficulties and challenges. The Vietnamese Government continues to support investors in priority areas through policies prepared for promulgation.

According to Mr. Lee Jae Yong, over the past 16 years, the cooperative relationship between Samsung and Vietnam has developed brilliantly, accompanying Vietnam’s growth. “Vietnam's success is Samsung's success, Vietnam's development is Samsung's development," emphasized the Samsung Chairman.

Currently, 310 companies in Vietnam are partners in Samsung's production chain; there are 2,500 engineers and researchers at Samsung's Research and Development (R&D) Center in Hanoi, including a department researching artificial intelligence in languages ​​other than Vietnamese. Samsung is also engaged in researching and developing 5G equipment.

As the largest foreign investor and exporter in Vietnam, Samsung is committed to sustainable development in the spirit of "harmonious benefits, shared risks," a principle frequently emphasized by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Samsung plans to make its factory in Vietnam the largest display module manufacturer globally within the next three years.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated Samsung Group's achievements in investing and doing business in Vietnam, actively contributing to modern technological products, import and export, and socio-economic development.

The Prime Minister highlighted "six outstanding points" in the cooperation between Vietnam and Samsung over the past year, focusing on research, development, and emerging industries such as semiconductor chips and artificial intelligence. He welcomed Samsung's future cooperation with new products and results, particularly in the digital, green, and circular economies.

The Prime Minister expressed hope that Samsung would expand its investment, market, and supply chain, considering Vietnam a strategic base for production, research, and development of key products for the international market. He noted that Vietnam's ongoing free trade negotiations with regions such as the Middle East, South America, and Africa would help Samsung expand its market reach.

The Prime Minister urged Samsung to increase its localization rate and support the capacity-building of Vietnamese enterprises to participate more effectively in Samsung's value chain. He encouraged Samsung to integrate digital technology enterprises and Vietnamese partners into its ecosystem to research and develop innovative products.

Additionally, the Prime Minister suggested promoting activities at Samsung's R&D Center in Hanoi, supporting the training of high-quality human resources, and advancing innovation, startups, and the application of science and technology in Vietnam.

Reiterating the desire for Vietnamese participation in Samsung Vietnam’s leadership, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the combination of Korean management technology and Vietnamese intelligence would guarantee success.

The Prime Minister assured that the Vietnamese Government would support and facilitate effective, successful, and sustainable investment and business activities by Samsung in Vietnam. Relevant ministers would be responsible for implementing the agreements between Vietnam and Samsung.

The Prime Minister expressed his hope to welcome the Chairman of Samsung Group in Hanoi with new products, results, and rapid development of Samsung in Vietnam.
