Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam left Hanoi on October 11 morning for the ASEAN Leaders’ Gathering on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) – World Bank (WB) annual meetings in Bali, Indonesia, and a working visit to the country from October 11 to 12.
He is accompanied by Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Le Minh Hung, Deputy Foreign Minister and head of the ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting of Vietnam Nguyen Quoc Dung, Deputy Minister of Finance Huynh Quang Hai, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Hoang Van Thang, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Pham Vinh Quang.
The participation in the ASEAN Leaders’ Gathering on the sidelines of the IMF-WB annual meetings aims to show Vietnam as an active and responsible member of ASEAN and demonstrate the importance that Vietnam attaches to the world’s biggest multilateral institutions and host Indonesia, thereby helping to promote Vietnam’s stature in the region and the world.
Meanwhile, the working visit to Indonesia is an illustration of Vietnam’s high regard for the archipelago nation’s role and standing in the region and the world, as well as the wish to coordinate closely with Indonesia and other countries in building a Southeast Asian region of peace, stability, unity, prosperous development and sustainable development.-VNA
