Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a reception for visiting Vice President of Laos Phankham Viphavanh in Hanoi on July 18, vowing that Vietnam will continue helping Laos’s nation-building efforts despite dealing with various difficulties.

He highly valued the two countries’ coordination in organizing a host of meaningful activities to salute the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year 2017.

He expected that the two sides will strengthen educating young generations on preserving the special bilateral relations, boost people-to-people exchange, and accelerate investment and trade.

The PM expressed his hope that both countries should continue reforming their mechanisms, laws and policies to make new strides in international integration and share their experience in the effort.

Phankham Viphavanh stressed that the importance of the governments’ instructions to the outcomes of cooperative programmes between the two countries.

Laos has received huge assistance from Vietnam over the past time, which helped it yielded a lot of socio-economic attainments, he noted.

He thanked Vietnam for helping his country build the National Assembly House, describing it as a gift of extreme significance.

He said Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements provide a source of encouragement for Laos, and wished Vietnam would continue share its experience, which will serve as a foundation for Laos in its development path.
