He pledged that the Government of Vietnam always backs the two ministries’ cooperation as he believed it will contribute to enhancing the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Vietnam considers the building of institutions as a breakthrough in the country’s development strategy, the PM told visiting Italian Minister of Justice Andrea Orlando during their meeting in Hanoi on October 27.

With special attention paid to completing institutions, the Government of Vietnam has drastically direct the enforcement of law in reality, while creating favourable conditions for socio-economic development and serving the people and enterprises, he said. The PM also highlighted the significant role of the justice sector during that process.

He proposed that Italy advises the EU to soon sign and approve the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement.

He also expressed hope that Vietnam and Italy will boost their economic, trade and investment ties, thus further raising two-way trade.

Vietnam always supports Italian investors to do long-term business in the country and implement effective projects, especially in areas of Italy’s strengths and Vietnam’s demand, he stated.

On his part, Orlando said that during his working visit, a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation will be signed, laying a foundation for the effective partnership in justice, and contributing to expanding the relationship between the two sides.

Lauding Vietnam’s reform efforts over the past years, especially in justice, he said that Italy is always interested in bills being discussed by the National Assembly of Vietnam, including the Law on Belief and Religion and the Law on Associations.

Orlando affirmed that the strengthening of justice cooperation will help boost partnership among enterprises of both countries.-VNA
