A big copperhead snake has been found at a playground of an apartment building in Hanoi’s Hoang Mai District.

The copperhead snake weighs around one kilo

At around 11 pm on May 1, security guards at the Rice City apartment building at Hoang Liet Ward discovered the snake near the building’s children playground. The animal was up to more than one metre long and weighed around a kilo.  

The copperhead’s bites can kill humans within hours.

According to building security guards, the snake may come from the parking lot or nearby buildings which have large vegetable gardens or lawns.

Many local residents were surprised and scared about the news, fearing that other copperheads may still live in the area.

A woman who lived near this building commented said that she had never seen snakes in the area before.

Earlier, security guards at the HH2B apartment building in Linh Dam area, Hoang Liet Ward also found a 1.2 metre long coluber constrictor.
