VietNamNet Bridge - Pokemon Go, which was officially launched into the market last Wednesday, has quickly become a smash hit on mobile phones.

An app that runs on iOS and Android devices, Pokemon Go allows interactions between the virtual and real world by asking players to use smartphones to track down virtual subjects in real world.

Ninantic is known as the developer of Pokemon, while Nintendo is the investor. Thanks to the Pokemon Go fever, the price of the Japanese game firm has soared by 25 percent in the last few days.

Gamers have to go as instructed to certain places and find Pokemon, then try to catch Pokemon with Pokeball similar to what the characters in films and games usually do.

However, the app now can be used only in some countries, including the US, Australia and New Zealand. This has prompted Vietnamese gamers to try every possible way to dodge regulations to download Pokemon to their smartphones.

Private smartphone shops in Vietnam have begun taking orders for Pokemon Go Plus, the associated tracking device, right after the device became available on foreign websites, including Amazon and GameStop.

On some gamers’ forums, one can find guides on how to uninstall the barriers to play Pokemon. In some countries, including Vietnam, iPhone users can also play Pokemon Go by creating an Apple account belonging to the US, Australia and New Zealand, where Pokemon is officially available.

The users of Android-run devices have also been told that they can download an ‘.apk’ file and install in their smartphones. However, some experts warned that the method may accidentally insert malware into the devices, which would allow hackers to hijack the smartphones.

International media reported that since the number of players is high, the server has become overloaded, which has forced game developers to delay their plan to launch the product worldwide.

However, The Verge has reported that Pokemon Go would be distributed soon in Europe and Asia ‘in some days’. Though the game developer has not made official comments on the news, The Verge affirmed this is reliable information.

If so, Pokemon addicts will not have to ‘borrow’ IDs from other countries.

Meanwhile, private smartphone shops in Vietnam have begun taking orders for Pokemon Go Plus, the associated tracking device, right after the device became available on foreign websites, including Amazon and GameStop. The devices will be brought to Vietnam across the border by travelers or traders.

The predicted price is VND900,000, but buyers may have to pay more if the international price is higher than thought.
