Police in central Thanh Hoa Province busted a football betting ring worth VNĐ160 billion (US$7.04 million).

Ten people from the gambling network have been arrested, including Tran Văn Chính, 29, the gang leader. All of them are residents of Tinh Gia District’s Hai Thanh Commune.

The police seized two computers, 11 mobile phones, VNĐ345 million ($15,180) and documents.

An initial investigation showed that Chính set up the betting activities early this year, with transactions over VNĐ160 billion.

The police are conducting a deeper investigation.
