VietNamNet Bridge – Police of Can Tho, the largest city in the Mekong Delta, inspected in early March the Hanh Phat Hung Co., Ltd. in Thoi Lai District and discovered 345 tons of fertilizer, which were suspected to be fake products, the largest volume of fake fertilizer detected in Can Tho.

This fake fertilizer producting facility had been operated for several years before the raid.


The police raided this company’s warehouse after months of investigation and tracking. Of the 345 tons of fertilizer, 285 are imported from China and 60 tons have no label and are expired. All of them have no invoices to prove the origin.

In addition, there are more than 20 tons of finished fertilizer products, packed in 50kg bags labeled Lam Phat Hung and about 18,000 bags printed with Lam Phat Hung label.

The company’s manager admitted that the company bought fertilizer of different kinds, put them into the mixer to create the finished products named Lam Phat Hung.

"This company hired an old rice warehouse which is located away from roads and residential areas to produce fake fertilizer. This facility has been operating for more than two years," an investigating officer said.

The police also seized 280 tons of Chinese fertilizer of all kinds and 26 tons of other fertilizer which had expired at this company’s stores.
