The verdict on the case filed by the Philippines against China’s territorial claims in the East Sea, in the long term, will substantially contribute to peace and stability in the region, an expert said.

 The Permanent Court of Arbitration yesterday ruled that China violated the Philippines’s sovereign rights in exploring resources surrounding the Reed Bank in the East Sea (internationally known as the South China Sea).
