The troupe will come to San Jose in North California on August 6, Houston on August 7 and Saigon Performance Art in Orange County in South California on August 14.
Da co hoai lang, written by Thanh Hoang and directed by Vu Minh, is a touching story about the integration time of two old men from Vietnam in Western society.
Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc plays Mr. Tu, a Vietnamese tuong (classical drama) artist who had performed across the Mekong Delta, while Meritorious Artist Huu Chau is cast Mr. Nam, a countryside man in Vietnam and also Mr. Tu’s best friend.
Both of them felt in love with the same woman who later became Mr. Tu’s wife.
The old buddies immigrated to the U.S. thanks to their children but they found it difficult to adapt to a new way of life there, especially culture shocks.
The troupe consists of meritorious artists Thanh Loc and Huu Chau, and young actor and actress Luong The Thanh and Tuong Vy.
According to Sala, the show organizer based in the U.S., tickets to the program have been launched for two months and have been almost sold out.
Last year, Idecaf sold out tickets for seven shows of its hit drama Hop dong manh thu during their U.S. tour.
It is expected that Idecaf will have another tour to America with its drama “Tia oi ma dia!”
