At a reception for the outgoing Ambassador in Hanoi on December 23, President Sang said Vietnam treasures the strategic partnership with Thailand, adding that he appreciates the joint efforts in preparing for celebrations of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

The President also welcomed Thai businesses to invest in Vietnam and proposed Thailand create favourable conditions for Vietnamese workers to join its labour market.

The Thai diplomat thanked President Sang as well as Vietnamese agencies and sectors to help him fulfill his missions during the tenure in Vietnam.

He expressed his pleasure to receive the medal “For Peace and Friendship among Nations” granted by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations.

He conveyed the invitations of Thai government leaders to President Truong Tan Sang to visit Thailand in the coming time.

The outgoing Ambassador also thanked Vietnam for facilitating Thai business operation in the country, adding that the Thai Government is activating some projects supporting Vietnamese fishermen to increase aquatic product value.

Deputy Prime Minister meets outgoing Thai Ambassador

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh congratulated outgoing Thai Ambassador Panyarak Poolthup for his successful tenure in Vietnam during a reception in Hanoi on December 23.

He lauded the diplomat’s contributions to reinforcing the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership and cooperation between the two countries’ foreign ministries, and asked the ambassador to continue working to foster the friendship in his new position.

The Deputy PM went on to underscore the importance of the relations with Thailand, saying Vietnam hopes to boost the ties further.

Ambassador Panyarak Poolthup, in reply, expressed his appreciation for all the support he received from the Vietnamese Government and State agencies during his tenure.

The guest affirmed that he will continue to promote the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership.

Lao Deputy PM thanks VNA for support to Lao News Agency

Lao Deputy Prime Minister Phankham Viphavan thanked the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) for its effective support to the Lao News Agency KPL over the past time while receiving VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi in Vientiane on December 23.

Deputy PM Viphavan said cooperation between VNA and KPL is on the right track, particularly in personnel training and exchange of news in all forms, adding that VNA’s assistance in professional training is significant amid the proliferation of online media at present.

He vowed to provide all possible support for the two agencies to increase collaboration and affirmed that the visit has contributed to fostering the VNA-KPL traditional friendship and the Laos – Vietnam special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.

The VNA General Director, for his part, informed his host about joint work between VNA and KPL over the past time, including personnel training and upgrade of technical infrastructure.

He said both sides will continue strengthening their partnership, especially in covering major events next year when Laos holds the 10 th National Party Congress and assumes the role of ASEAN Chair.
