On the afternoon of December 13, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony to present medals to senior officials of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA).

To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th anniversary of the All-People's National Defense Festival, the President awarded the Military Exploit Order and the Order of National Defense to 34 senior military officers who have made outstanding contributions to building the armed forces, strengthening national defense, and safeguarding the country.

General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, presented the Third-Class Military Exploit Order to 10 leaders from the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff, and the General Political Department.

Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Director of the General Political Department, and General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Minister of National Defense, presented the First-Class, Second-Class, and Third-Class Orders of National Defense to 24 commanding officers from various agencies and units.

General Phan Van Giang congratulated the 34 senior officials, emphasizing that these prestigious awards from the Party and State demonstrate recognition of their achievements and dedication. He noted that these honors are not only a significant personal milestone for the recipients but also a shared celebration for the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and all military personnel.

This medal-awarding ceremony holds special significance as it precedes the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th anniversary of the All-People's National Defense Festival by just nine days. The Vietnam People’s Army has consistently grown in strength and demonstrated its steadfast resolve as a revolutionary force born from the people and dedicated to their service. It remains a trustworthy and loyal political and combat force of the Party, State, and the people.

General Phan Van Giang emphasized that senior military leaders must exemplify exceptional discipline and serve as role models, continually striving for self-improvement to meet the demands of new challenges. He urged them to contribute meaningfully to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation as Vietnam enters a new era of development and progress.
