Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has issued decisions to appoint three new assistants to the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers.

Specifically, Nguyen Hong Tuyen, Director of the Legal Department at the Government Office, has been appointed as Assistant to Politburo Member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Le Hoang Tung, Director of the General Affairs Department at the Government Office, has been appointed as Assistant to Politburo Member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh.

Do Hoang Minh, a director within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs currently seconded to the Government Office, has been appointed as Assistant to Central Committee Member and Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son.

According to Regulation 30, which outlines the standards, conditions, responsibilities, and authority for assistant and secretary positions, these roles require specialized knowledge, a deep understanding of their assigned fields, and strong research, analysis, and advisory skills. Coordination capabilities are also essential.

Assistants must hold director-level positions or equivalent for at least three years, with special cases requiring approval from relevant authorities.

The regulation further stipulates that the General Secretary, President, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the National Assembly may have up to four assistants. The Standing Secretary of the Party Secretariat is allowed up to three assistants. Politburo members may have no more than two assistants.

Members of the Secretariat, Vice Presidents, Deputy Prime Ministers, and Vice Chairpersons of the National Assembly are entitled to one assistant.

In exceptional circumstances where additional assistants are necessary, approval must be sought from the Politburo.
