PM Phuc welcomed Lu’s first visit to Vietnam to attend a spring meeting with secretaries of Party Committees of the border provinces of Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang and Ha Giang.

Stressing that the two countries share deep and comprehensive relations, he suggested both sides work to raise awareness among party members and younger people of the good friendship between Vietnam and China, and particularly to bolster economic and trade ties between their border localities. 

PM Phuc affirmed that Vietnam wants to accelerate the development of cross-border economic zones, and the Vietnamese Government will instruct border localities to develop transport infrastructure to promote trade links with Chinese localities. 

Noting that Guangxi accounts for 25 percent of Vietnam-China trade value, he expressed hope for a strong and more balanced development of the bilateral trade ties in the coming time.

On the occasion, the PM suggested that Guangxi authorities create favourable conditions in custom clearance procedures for more Vietnamese exports to enter the Chinese market.

Furthermore, he said that both sides should work together to prevent trafficking and border crimes, making contributions to building and maintaining a peaceful border.

Lu, for his part, spoke highly of the exchange mechanism between Guangxi and Vietnamese border provinces, which help both sides develop transport connection and trade ties.

He hoped to receive the Vietnamese Government’s support in developing land and sea transport connectivity between Vietnam and China in general and Guangxi in particular. 

The official also urged the two sides to pay attention to the building of cross-border economic zones to enhance trade ties between the two nations.

As Guangxi has an important role in the Vietnam-China relations thanks to its geographical location, Lu said he will do his utmost to consolidate and further develop the good friendship and collaboration between the two countries.

Vietnamese localities and China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region should enhance exchanges and bolster all-round cooperation, contributing to the sound development of the Vietnam-China friendship, said Politburo member Tran Quoc Vuong, who is also a permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat. 

Hosting a reception for Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhuang Autonomous Region Lu Xinshe on March 19, Vuong hailed the robust collaboration between the Chinese region and Vietnamese border localities over the past time.

He expressed his hope that Lu’s visit to Vietnam will help promote mutual understanding and further cooperation to develop the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and China in a more stable manner in the coming time.

Lu, for his part, congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic achievements in recent years, and believed that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, the Vietnamese people will successfully realise the goals set by the 12th CPV Central Committee.

He stressed that Guangxi party committee and administration always treasure the friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam. As there is huge room for both sides to boost collaboration, they should promote transport infrastructure connection and facilitate customs clearance in the coming time, the official added.

Guangxi will continue expanding the list of Vietnamese agricultural imports, he said.

Furthermore, both sides will promote experience sharing in party building, anti-corruption and human resources training as well as join hands to combat cross-border crimes. 

China stands ready to work with Vietnam to popularise and effectively implement three legal documents on border management, ensuring border stability and social safety, and boosting cooperation for border socio-economic development, he said, adding that the move will contribute to fostering the traditional relations between the two Parties, states and peoples.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade treasures cooperation with Guangxi and sees the Chinese locality as an important bridge to connect the Vietnamese and Chinese markets.

Holding talk with Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China Lu Xinshe in Hanoi on March 20, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh lauded Guangxi province’s role in developing Vietnam-China cooperation, particularly in economy and trade.

He expressed his delight over the signing of a memorandum of understanding on enhancing collaboration between the ministry and Guangxi province in the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Anh took the occasion to ask Guangxi authorities to facilitate customs clearance for Vietnamese agricultural products and propose the General Administration of Customs of China to grant import permission for Vietnam’s passion fruit, mangosteen, durian and sweet patato.

He said that the move will serve as foundation for companies from both sides to promote business ties.

Lu, for his part, said that Vietnam and Guangxi hold huge potential to enhance land and sea transport connectivity, suggesting they develop transport infrastructure to facilitate trade.

Describing the annual China-ASEAN Expo as a good opportunity for Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises to boost cooperation, he thanked the Vietnamese ministry for contributing to the success of the expo, and invited Anh to visit the Chinese locality and attend the 16th event scheduled in September.

Vietnam has been the largest trade partner of Guangxi for years. Last year, two-way trade stood at 26.73 billion USD, up 7.96 percent year on year.

Guangxi accounts for 25 percent of Vietnam-China trade value.
