Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted separate receptions for leaders of Adani Green Limited and Suzlon Energy Limited of India in New Delhi on January 26.

Receiving Chief Executive Officer of Adani Green Limited Jayant Parimal, PM Phuc spoke highly of its investment in solar and wind power in the central province of Ninh Thuan and hoped that its projects will be launched soon.
Parimal, for his part, said Adani Green Limited is not only strong in renewable energy but also infrastructure development and agriculture, adding that the firm wishes to further expand business operations in Vietnam and plans to develop 1,000MW of renewable power in the country.
He thanked Vietnam’s authorised agencies and the People’s Committee of Ninh Thuan for promptly issuing investment licences to the enterprise.
Under the witness of the PM, Chairman of the Ninh Thuan provincial People’s Committee Luu Xuan Vinh presented an investment licence to the group to build a wind power plant in the locality.
The executive pledged to launch the project within the next 30 days and set the goal of generating electricity by late 2018.
Meeting Suzlon’s Chief Sales Officer Ishwar Mangal and Director of Emerging Markets Himanshoo Raj Khare, the Vietnamese PM affirmed that Vietnam always provides all possible support for Indian firms, including Suzlon, to do business in the country.
The leader lauded Suzlon’s wind power project by providing wind turbines and building a wind power accessories plant – a field of priority in Vietnam.
Suzlon executives said the firm is among the top 10 globally in renewable energy with highly-skilled staff.
They expressed interest in developing renewable energy in Vietnam with the most advanced technology with a view to generating at least 500MW of electricity, and wished to receive support in the project.
In the afternoon, the Vietnamese PM and his spouse attended a banquet together with leaders of ASEAN member states hosted by the Indian PM in celebration of the 69th anniversary of Republic Day of India.
Later, the Vietnamese delegation flew back to the home country, concluding the India visit to attend the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit and the ceremony celebrating the 69th anniversary of Republic Day of India.-VNA
