At the reception, PM Phuc expressed his delight at the cooperation between Boeing and Vietnamese airlines over the past time.

He said he just had a successful meeting with US President Donald Trump, who said he was impressed by the signing of aircraft purchasing deals worth up to 21 billion USD between Boeing and Vietnamese carriers.

The Vietnamese Government leader thanked Boeing for its long-term cooperation with Vietnam over the past years, especially providing technical support and maintenance for Vietnamese airlines to enhance their flight safety and helping the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines in opening direct flights to the US.

Kevin McAllister said as the aviation sector of Vietnam will develop strongly in the time to come, Boeing wishes to collaborate with the country, not only in selling planes but also in technique, maintenance and airport infrastructure management.

He congratulated Vietnam on obtaining the US certificate to enable its airlines to fly to the US.

According to PM Phuc, Vietnam’s aviation development demand is huge as the country wants to purchase more new airplanes towards realising the goal of luring 50 million international visitors per year.

He asked the two sides to enhance collaboration to raise the prestige of Vietnamese carriers. He wished that Boeing will help Vietnamese airlines in aircraft maintenance to raise flight safety.

Vietnam wishes to accelerate the launch of direct flights to the US, saying that this is a great opportunity for cooperation and exchanges in tourism and study between the two nations, he noted.

In reply, Kevin McAllister said Boeing is planning to expand the manufacturing of plane parts in Vietnam, vowing to provide more support for the country in the coming time.
