Beautiful fields of buckwheat flowers, framed by magnificent limestone mountains, have become a top tourist attraction in Ha Giang province in recent years. The province hopes to draw more tourists by showcasing its natural beauty.

From late October to early December, buckwheat flowers are in full bloom, making for a spectacular sight. Ha Giang province hopes to draw more tourists by showcasing its natural attractions. 

Not only attractive with shining beauty, buckwheat flowers are grown for their grain-like seeds, which are also used to make food by ethnic minorities in the mountainous region.  

The hills and mountains covered with the white and pink of the flowers not only attract Vietnamese visitors, but foreigners as well. 

From 2015, a festival to honour buckwheat flowers has been held annually, aiming to popularise the image of Ha Giang province. It is also expected to improve the livelihoods of local ethnic minorities.-VNA
