Vietnamese music from the early 20th century will be honoured in the project “100 years of Vietnamese music” with a series of concerts at Tuoi Tre Theatre in Hanoi.
The project's organising board at the press conference on August 9 in Hanoi
The project aims to introduce the history of Vietnamese “Tan nhac” (or new music) over the past century, said the organising board at a press conference on August 9 in Hanoi.
It will combine 24 programmes over two years with each concert a month at Tuoi Tre Theatre. The first concert will take place on August 25.
Artists from Tuoi Tre Theatre and guests, including overseas Vietnamese artists, will attend the programme.
Emerging in Vietnam in the early 20th century, “Tan nhac” has developed along with Vietnamese history from pre-war (before 1945) to reform period and contributed to the country’s musical sector with outstanding composers and pieces.
