Hundreds of overseas Vietnamese in the Republic of Korea (RoK) on March 27 staged a demonstration at the Embassy of China in Seoul to protest China’s military actions in the East Sea.

Wearing red t-shirts printed with a gold star, the demonstrators carried flags and banners to protest the recent aggressive moves by China in the East Sea.

They raised banners in Vietnamese, English, and Korean languages and chanted the slogan "Hoang Sa - Truong Sa belong to Vietnam", "China, stop militarisation in the East Vietnam Sea (South China Sea).

The rally attracted the participation of Vietnamese students, workers,

and even children living and studying in RoK.

A representative sent a joint statement of the Vietnamese community in RoK to the Chinese Embassy in Seoul.

This is the second rally of the Vietnamese community in RoK since China illegally placed the HD-981 oil rig in the exclusive economic zone and continental shelf of Vietnam in 2014.
