Tran Quoc Nghien Street to be expanded
|
This is part of a project to expand the coastal road Tran Quoc Nghien in the city to six lanes from four lanes.
The project, which uses the city budget, is scheduled for completion in May 2020.
Hon Gai Beach, which is at the end of the road, is roughly 900 metres long. Sand will be pumped onto the beach construction and after that trees will be grown on the expanded road.
The road has already been zoned.
By late November last year, the city started widening Bai Tho Bridge which is also located on Tran Quoc Nghien Street. The VND350-billion (USD152 million) project is slated for operation in November this year.
The city will also kick off the 18.6 km Ha Long-Cam Pha road in July.
Ha Long is a tourist city, but it lacks beaches for visitors. The city has three beaches, but Tuan Chau and Bai Chay are manmade. To enjoy real beaches, tourists visit Co To or Quan Lan Island which is some 1.5 hours from Ha Long City by boat. Dtinews
