Q & A session of the ongoing third meeting of the 14th National Assembly, which began on June 13, focuses on four matters of public concern, including agricultural restructuring, management of cultural activities, social affairs and tourism quality, health check-ups and treatment together with medicine prices and grassroots medical stations and use of resources for development.
In her opening speech, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said as of June 12, legislators sent 98 questions to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, government members, Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court and Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Procuracy. According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the legislature has received 3,288 proposals and feedback from people nationwide.
Cuban politburo member and President of the National Assembly of People’s Power of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernandez attended the event.
Later, member of the NA Standing Committee and head of its Mass Mobilisation Commission Nguyen Thanh Hai presented a report on dealing with constituents’ recommendations sent to the 14th NA’s second session.
The report said all 3,320 queries from constituents nationwide have been answered on the NA’s portal.
Meanwhile, all 3,119 queries to the government receieved respondes and 94 legal documents were issued.
In April, the government launched a feedback reception and response system on its website.
The NA Standing Committee asked the PM, ministers and heads of sectors to respond to 59 delayed queries before the NA’s fifth session in May 2018, which touch upon the management and exploitation of mineral resources, farm produce trademark and agricultural investment attraction, strengthened inspection of loss-making projects of public concern, improvement of the quality of citizens’ reception and housing construction in flood-prone areas in the Mekong Delta.
