Two earthquakes, measured 3.1 and 3.4 on the Richter scale, hit the mountainous districts of Tay Giang and Phuoc Son on Saturday morning (October 15.

The Hanoi-based Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Centre under the Institute of Geophysics, said the epicentre of the quakes lay between 10 and 11km.


The centre said the first quake, which occurred around 8.20am on Saturday with 3.1 on the Richter scale, shook Phuoc Son district, while the other quake hit Tay Giang district at 8.30am with 3.4 Richter scale.


No injuries, deathes, and damages to houses have yet reported.

In April, a 3.2 Richter quake also hit Song Tranh Hydropower Plant No 2 in Bac Tra My District.
