At the conference, Quang Ninh People’s Committee Chairman Bui Van Khang presented investment decisions for 16 projects with combined capital of around VND16.075 trillion (about US$611 million).

The projects span a broad range of sectors, including healthcare, urban development, social housing, environmental protection, trade, services, tourism, mining, processing and manufacturing, high-tech industries, agriculture and other key areas of the economy.

Quang Ninh pledged to work closely with businesses and investors throughout project implementation, providing support within the framework of the law while strengthening inspections and supervision to ensure projects meet their objectives and schedules, comply with regulations and make efficient use of land and natural resources.

Quang Ninh People’s Committee Chairman Bui Van Khang called on provincial departments, agencies and local authorities to act proactively and responsibly and coordinate closely, following the principle of “accompanying businesses, providing support and removing obstacles.”

He also urged greater accountability in handling administrative procedures, site clearance, land, construction, environmental issues, infrastructure and other matters falling within their jurisdiction.

Speaking at the conference, Khang said every project represented a commitment, a new facility, new production capacity and a fresh source of resources for Quang Ninh’s development.

In particular, as Quang Ninh enters a new stage of development with broader opportunities and higher expectations as a centrally governed city, the role of businesses and investors has become even more important.

“Quang Ninh clearly identifies businesses as the key players and the center of investment, production and commercial activities. The success of businesses is also the success of the province,” Khang said. “Following today’s presentation ceremony, I respectfully ask investors to move quickly from receiving investment decisions to implementing their projects on the ground, turning investment commitments into actual facilities, production lines, products and tangible socioeconomic value.”

Khang added that Quang Ninh now stands before a new development landscape and fresh opportunities. The National Assembly’s approval for Quang Ninh to become a centrally governed city is a source of great pride, he said, but also brings significant responsibilities for the political system, business community and every resident.

Quang Ninh needs projects that are better, greener and more modern, with greater technological content and higher added value. Khang said he hoped the investors would become long-term partners of Quang Ninh, going beyond individual projects to help the locality build a new development environment and a dynamic, modern, green and sustainable economy.
