On the morning of December 12, Quang Ninh Museum welcomed its one-millionth visitor of 2025 - a Canadian tourist - marking the first time the museum has ever reached this milestone.

Mr. Lionel Klotz, a Canadian national, became the one-millionth guest to visit Quang Ninh Museum this year. He and his family arrived in Ha Long on a cruise and took the opportunity to explore the museum as part of their journey.
Speaking with emotion, Lionel said he was surprised and touched by the announcement: “This museum is a fascinating stop and has made our trip even more memorable. I’d also love to walk around town and try some local dishes,” he shared.
Many other international visitors expressed excitement while exploring the museum's diverse exhibition spaces, from the rich biodiversity of Ha Long Bay to the history of Vietnam’s northeastern frontier and the vibrant cultures of local ethnic communities.
Particularly impressive to guests were the immersive displays of deep coal mining and the visually captivating exhibits dedicated to the sacred Yen Tu Mountain.
Located near the shore of Ha Long Bay, Quang Ninh Museum has, for the first time, surpassed the one-million-visitor mark in a single year - far exceeding the 760,000 visitors recorded in 2024.
Alongside its extensive collection and striking architecture, the museum has expanded its “digital museum” initiative, offering services like e-ticketing via Zalo OA, cashless payment options, and automatic bilingual audio guides. Currently, 20–25% of visitors use these digital services, enhancing the overall experience and boosting local tourism visibility.
According to Mr. Do Quyet Tien, Director of Quang Ninh Museum, this milestone reflects the trust and affection of tourists, while also highlighting the tireless efforts of the museum team.
He shared that the museum is targeting 1.1 million visitors in 2025 and aims to continue that growth into 2026.
“In the time ahead, Quang Ninh Museum will keep innovating both in content and exhibition methods, integrating 3D and virtual reality technologies, and introducing more services to enhance visitor experiences and prolong their stay,” said Mr. Tien.
“Through these changes, we hope to make the museum an even more attractive destination and contribute to the overall development of Quang Ninh’s tourism sector.”
